Ali Qabel
Manager, Technical Competence Management TCM
ELNG
I was graduated as electrical engineer, and I had master degree Msc. in electrical engineering. I worked in oil and gas field in electrical maintenance & operation for 20 years. In Parallel, I had multiple certifications and practice actual work in the field of training, development and assessment in Egypt, other gulf countries.
I believe in technical competence management of people as a core pile for any organizations to achieve its corporate & business objectives and sustain their competent taskforce versus the current competition of different companies to attract competent calibers around the world.
In the context of building organizational capability, Technical Competence Management is an essential role in the dimension of “People” and an effective method to achieve operational excellence guaranteeing the achievement of company strategic and business objectives. So, the well-known international companies had established structured competence management systems to manage the relevant staff's competence and derive their development aligned with running HR processes such as recruitment, promotions and career path progression.
Beginning of 2020, I had the opportunity in ELNG to establish its new Technical Competence Management TCM framework and the relevant policies, procedures in benchmarking with pioneers in technical competence management in oil & gas industry.
I see every day is a new step in the ongoing journey towards maturity, top-quartile performance and worldwide standardized competence management system. It’s an exciting journey for myself.
