During the company’s general assembly chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, Bahaa El Din elaborated that this was achieved by linking databases between the company and its subsidiaries to improve energy efficiency, and launching an approved energy management system in the company’s building.
In addition, Bahaa El Din reviewed the most prominent business results during the fiscal year 2022/23, as he explained that the Red Sea region for oil and gas research and exploration is currently witnessing the completion of processing the data resulting from the second phase of the 3D seismic data collection project, in preparation to start drilling exploratory wells.
Bahaa El Din stated that the company’s and its subsidiaries’ operating areas in southern Egypt witnessed the drilling of seven exploratory wells during the year in the areas of Geisum, Tawila West, Northwestern Gemsa, and Gabal El-Zeit. He added that the average total production in the regions of southern Egypt reached 26,000 barrels per day (bbl/d).
Moreover, Bahaa El Din highlighted the implementation of the early production project from the North field. North Geisum and the water treatment plant in the PetroGulf production facilities area.
In the field of natural gas delivery, the total number of residential units benefiting from natural gas in Upper Egypt increased to more than 1.8 million residential units, 8,000 commercial establishments, and 174 factories.
In the field of social responsibility, Bahaa El Din highlighted the company’s participation in implementing housing and development projects, medical equipment, and subsistence supplies for the neediest families in Luxor, Aswan, and the Red Sea.
Meanwhile, El Molla confirmed that the expansion of projects to connect and use natural gas in the governorates of Upper Egypt during recent years aims to provide a good services for citizens.
El Molla noted that the expansion of gas delivery to homes and villages in Upper Egypt through the national delivery project and the presidential initiative Haya Karima (‘Decent Life’) provides an inexpensive civil service without the burden of transporting and handling butane cylinders.
He added that Haya Karima helped greatly in increasing the volume of natural gas deliveries in villages and hamlets throughout Upper Egypt to meet the needs of residents. He pointed out that recent years have witnessed great progress in implementing projects to connect natural gas to residential units in the cities of Upper Egypt.
El Molla also stated that the petroleum sector worked to provide services for converting cars to use natural gas as fuel in all governorates of Upper Egypt and to achieve the spread of its stations in various locations that serve citizens in coordination and cooperation with the governors.
The minister stated that the provision of petroleum products and liquid fuel in Upper Egypt witnessed a qualitative leap after President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi opened the gasoline production complex in Assiut, which worked to secure this product independently for all the governorates of Upper Egypt without the need to transport it from outside by trucks.
El Molla pointed to the progress of implementing the diesel production complex in Assiut, which will reflect positively on securing Upper Egypt’s requirements for various petroleum products.
The Minister thanked and appreciated all the employees of Ganope and the affiliated companies and projects for the work and effort they provided during the year, the effects of which were evident in the positive results achieved.
This general assembly was also attended via video conference by Ashraf Attia, Governor of Aswan; Ashraf Al-Daoudi, Governor of Qena; and Amr Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea.
